PCSD student participants, specifically grades 9-12, must comply with the Intel ISEF rules.  All fairs have tried to follow the ISEF display rules to avoid rework. 
Note, pictures of people are not allowed unless you have their written consent.
Maximum Size of Project
Depth (front to back):    30 inches
Width (side to side):       48 inches
Height (floor to top):       108 inches
All project materials and support mechanisms must fit within the project dimensions.

Park City District Science & Engineering Fair 2018

Welcome to the Park City District Science & Engineering Fair. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to Park City's 5th - 12th grade students. The following information is provided so you know what to expect. For detailed information about the fair, explore the Home and Fair tabs above.
When: February 15, 2018
Where: LDS Church - 1733 Lucky John Dr., Park City, UT 84060
Registration:  January 18 - February 8.

All participants must register for the PCSD fair, select the Register/Student dropdown above.  ***Please be sure to enter an email address and phone number that is checked regularly.

5th - 8th grade:  Must bring completed USEF form.
Students should have completed this form before their school science fair took place.  If you cannot find your original, signed form, download and fill out another one. 
9th-12th grade:  If you wish to be eligible to advance to the University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair (the regional science fair), you must complete the required paperwork on the USEF website.
February 14:  FAIR SET UP
4:00 – 5:30       Project Setup
5:30 – 6:30       Project Open House
Project displays MUST have clearly written:
1. Students' Names
2. School
3. Grade
4. Teacher’s Name
DO NOT bring as part of the display:
  • Liquids
  • Anything living, including microorganisms, such as bacteria or mold
  • Food of any kind
  • Hazardous or caustic (burn producing) materials
  • Latex gloves, balloons, etc.
We reserve the right to make an on-site decision about whether or not items may be displayed.  
Neither school district personnel, nor volunteers, are responsible for your display or materials.  Usual security precautions will be provided, but we cannot guarantee the safety of personal items left overnight or unattended during the fair.  Consider whether valuable items are essential to sharing the project (ex: computer, one of a kind item, etc).  If they are, bringing them on the day of judging.  We strongly encourage students to use photographs for display purposes and leave everything else at home. 
If you need power for your project, be sure to note it during registration.  You must bring your own extension cord.  Plugs are very limited and located only on walls.
*** If you can't deliver your project during the check-in time, ask someone to bring it to the fair for you. If someone else brings your project, make sure you give them paper copies of the required forms.
February 15th: THE FAIR
8:00 – 8:30       Judge orientation
8:30 – 12:30      Projects will be judged. Students must be present.
4:00 – 5:30       Projects must be picked up during this time period.
Students will be interviewed 1-2 times by judging pairs, depending on the number of judges available. This is an effort to maximize the judges' time and minimize the time a student is away from class. Parents should NOT be near the students during judging.
What to bring:
Students will be judged over the course of 1-3 hours.  Students must stay within eyesight of their project while waiting to be judged. Small electronic games WITH HEADPHONES are permitted as long as they do not interfere with the event.  There will be no WiFi connectivity.
Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the fair. It is important that students have a parent/adult contact number while at the fair. Ecker Hill students will be bussed to / from the fair during the school day.
After Fair:
All projects must be picked up between 4:00 - 5:30. The safety of projects remaining after 5:30 cannot be guaranteed. 
Winners will be announced at each school on February 16.
The top projects from the District fair will be invited to participate in the University of Utah Science & Engineering Fair (USEF) March 20-22, 2018.  Students chosen to advance will receive additional information about registering for USEF.
